Many different problems such as pre-existing anemia, pre-existing diabetes, asthma, thyroid problems etc. may put your pregnancy at risk. Hence, it is important that you see a gynaecologist prior to falling pregnant, in order to make sure that everything is going well before you embark on pregnancy. High risk pregnancy will need regular checkup & regular follow up & investigation, so that the outcome for you and your baby are the best.
